Schweppes Expereince Matters

We know it does and Schweepes is hoping that you do too…

Just released via the online circuit Schweppes – thanks to Mother – is unveiling their new campaign “Experience Matters.”

In this satyrical ad we see how a London Bloke uses his modern day wit and humor to grab a seat on the train…does the term Swine Flu ring a bell?

We don’t know what the reaction is going to be giving that we clearly see some unwelcoming stereotypes.

But from a marketing perspective, all we can really say is that we are impressed with how fast an advertising agency is using global daily issues to generate buzz and hoping that people will relate to its message.

What do you think? Will it offend or will people be able to relate…let us know your thoughts.

  1. Leo says:

I believe it offends in a way. Are they really using modern day wit or just the same old dragging joke?
Sombrero=mexican? Seriously? I’d be more k with it had they shown someone in something less dated.

  2. Thanks for the comment..
I must say i agree with you.

  3. Leo says:

No prob. And for the record I LUV Mother, Adrenalina and Adrenalina’s Blog. But Mother can do better than that.

  4. grace says:

I do not agree with this type of advertising, is a racist joke, an insult for mexican people like me.
The people of the world could think that we are that way and is not truth, we have too many good things, this stereotype should be eliminate.
would you like that us joke about your country or culture?

  5. Alice says:

Well, as usual, some marketers have a very black humor, this kind of publicity doesn’t hurt us as mexicans, nevertheless business are business, the image its running fast into our mails and the goal its to cut off the product from our daily basis, someone has to be educated in a tough way!

  6. Cesar p says:

ok, i dont really care about schweppes, but i do think is offensive to us the mexican ppl, even that not all of us go on the street wearing those hats is part of our culture, schweppes should those adds before being sued for discrimination, tought even if that’s not the intention of the add, anyways there is a email spreading a message to the mexican ppl that suggest avoiding consumption of products including Coca-Cola Schweppes

  7. Tranquilita says:

Oh my… It’s a pitty I didn´t see this post months ago… But let me tell you that it offended many people in Mexico. Oh well.
